TapLocal App℠
Case Type: Tutoring

The grade went up.
So did the confidence.

Tutoring reviews are written by parents, and they describe a change: better grades, less stress at homework time, a child who finally gets it. TapLocal App℠ sets up the right Google profile for a tutoring center or an individual tutor, gets an NFC + QR Google review card to the parent, and hands you a report on what families already say.

No gating. No incentives. No guarantees. Ever.

Exhibit A — the card, at the parent pickup
// Why tutoring is a special case

Parents review, not students

The parent is the reviewer

Most students are minors. The card goes to the parent or guardian, never to the child.

Progress takes time

Families review after they see results, usually after a few weeks, a report card or a test score, not after the first session.

Privacy in your replies

Replies shouldn't name the student or mention grades, scores or learning needs. Member reports include reply drafts written that way.

Center or tutor listing

A center verifies like a storefront; an individual tutor who meets students at home or online can be set up as a service-area profile. Google chooses how you verify.

// Process

Four steps, no theatrics

Already have your own Google Business Profile claimed? Start at Install.

Set Up

We build or clean up the right profile, the practice's or your own practitioner listing, and walk you through Google's verification. A shared address can take extra steps.

Install

A branded NFC + QR card handed to the parent at pickup, a small sign at the center's front desk, or a link in your progress update email to parents. Tap or scan, straight to your Google review page.

Collect

Customers leave reviews the normal way, at their own pace — one tap and two clicks. No scripted asks, and no discounts, freebies or rewards for reviews — of any rating.

Learn

You get a TapLocal Intelligence Report™, built only from your own public reviews — what's working, what to fix first.

// Tutoring questions

Tutors: questions, answered plainly

Can we ask students to leave a review?
Don't ask children. Give the card to the parent or guardian, who chose your service and can speak to the results. Adult students can of course get the card themselves.
When should we give parents the card?
After they've seen progress: a better grade, a test passed, or the end of a term. A link in a progress update email is a natural moment.
How do we reply without sharing anything about a student?
Keep replies general: thank the family and never name the student or mention grades, scores or learning needs. Member reports include reply drafts written that way.
How does verification work for a tutor?
A center verifies like any storefront. An independent tutor who goes to students' homes or teaches online can usually be a service-area profile with a hidden address. Google chooses how you verify.
Will the report show which subjects families mention?
Yes. If reviews keep mentioning certain subjects, test prep or a particular tutor, the report shows those patterns.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
