Where should the card go in a pet store?
At the register, where every customer stops. Regulars buying food will see it many times, without anyone having to ask.
We have a loyalty program. Can we add points for a review?
No. Offering points, discounts or anything else in return for a review breaks Google's rules. Keep the card and your loyalty program separate.
We also offer grooming or self-wash. Is that a separate listing?
Usually not, if it's in the same store under the same name. Reviews of both go on one profile, and the report can show what customers say about each.
How does verification work for a pet store?
Standard storefront verification: Google confirms your real address, usually with a short video or a mailed postcard.
Will the report show complaints about animals or cleanliness?
If reviews mention them, yes. The report shows complaints as plainly as praise.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
