TapLocal App℠
Case Type: Optometry

Seeing clearly.
Saying so.

Eye care reviews cover two experiences: the exam and the eyewear. Patients mention a doctor who explained things plainly, and staff who helped them choose frames. TapLocal App℠ sets up or cleans up your practice's Google profile (or a doctor's own listing), places an NFC + QR Google review card at checkout and eyewear pickup, and hands you a report on what patients already say.

No gating. No incentives. No guarantees. Ever.

// Why optometry is a special case

The exam and the eyewear

Two experiences, one review

Patients often review the exam and the optical side separately, sometimes in the same review.

Pickup is the moment

Picking up new glasses or contacts, seeing clearly for the first time, is when patients are happiest.

Privacy matters in your replies

Replies shouldn't confirm someone is a patient or mention their eyes or care. Member reports include reply drafts written that way.

Practice or doctor listing

A practice verifies like any storefront; a doctor booked by name can also have their own listing. Google chooses how you verify, and a shared office can take extra steps.

Set Up

We build or clean up the right profile, the practice's or your own practitioner listing, and walk you through Google's verification. A shared address can take extra steps.

Install

A branded NFC + QR card at checkout and the eyewear pickup counter, a small sign at the frame wall, or printed on the glasses case card. Tap or scan, straight to your Google review page.

Collect

Customers leave reviews the normal way, at their own pace — one tap and two clicks. No scripted asks, and no discounts, freebies or rewards for reviews — of any rating.

You get a TapLocal Intelligence Report™, built only from your own public reviews — what's working, what to fix first.

// Optometry questions

Optometrists: questions, answered plainly

Should patients get the card at the exam or at pickup?
Either works; pickup is often better. When patients see clearly in their new glasses, the experience is complete.
How do we reply to reviews without breaking patient privacy?
Keep replies general: thank the reviewer, don't confirm they're a patient, and never mention their eyes, conditions or care. Member reports include reply drafts written that way.
Can each doctor in our practice have their own listing?
In many cases Google allows individual practitioners their own profile alongside the practice's. We look at how your practice works and recommend the right setup.
How does verification work for an eye care practice?
Like any storefront: Google chooses the method, often a short video or a mailed postcard to your practice address. Separate doctor listings at a shared office can take extra steps.
Will the report separate the exam from the optical shop?
If reviews talk about frames, fitting or wait times for glasses, the report shows those patterns separately from the exam itself.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
