Google Review Cards for Mortgage Brokers

Kept them posted to closing.
Let the next buyer read it.

Mortgage reviews are written after closing, and they reward one thing most: staying in touch through underwriting. Buyers and their real estate agents both read them. TapLocal App℠ sets up your Google profile for where you actually lend, puts an NFC + QR Google review card carrying your name and NMLS ID in the closing packet, and hands you a report on what borrowers already say.

No gating. No incentives. No guarantees. Ever.

Exhibit A — the card, in the closing packet
// Why mortgage lending is a special case

Judged at closing

Communication during underwriting decides the stars

Borrowers write about whether they knew what was happening while the loan was in underwriting, more than about the rate.

Your NMLS ID goes on the card

Georgia requires your name and NMLS unique identifier on every solicitation and advertisement, including business cards and websites. We print it on yours.

Replies never mention the loan

Never mention a borrower's rate, terms, credit or approval in a reply, even if they did. Member reports include reply drafts written that way.

Office or service-area listing

Brokers with an office clients visit verify like any office; loan officers who meet clients where they are use a service-area setup. We check which fits.

// Process

Four steps, no theatrics

Already have a service-area Google profile claimed? Start at Install.

Set Up

We build your service-area profile, hide your base address, define where you actually work, and walk you through Google's verification (usually a short video).

Install

A branded NFC + QR card with your name and NMLS ID in the closing packet, at the closing table, or a link in the email after funding. Tap or scan, straight to your Google review page.

Collect

Customers leave reviews the normal way, at their own pace — one tap and two clicks. No scripted asks, and no discounts, freebies or rewards for reviews — of any rating.

Learn

You get a TapLocal Intelligence Report™, built only from your own public reviews — what's working, what to fix first.

// Mortgage Brokers questions

Mortgage Brokers & Loan Officers: questions, answered plainly

When should borrowers get the card?
At closing or right after funding, the same way for every borrower. Never only the smooth closings; Google's policy doesn't allow asking only the happy ones.
Does the card need my NMLS number?
Yes. Georgia's mortgage advertising rule (Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 80-11-1-.02) requires your name and NMLS unique identifier on every solicitation and advertisement, including business cards. Your card carries both, exactly as they appear on NMLS.
How do we reply to reviews?
Keep replies general: thank them and congratulate them on the new home. Never mention the rate, terms, credit, income or approval, even if they did.
Can the real estate agents we work with review us?
Agents who worked a transaction with you can describe their own experience. Never trade reviews with agents or offer anything for one; Google doesn't allow reviews given in exchange for anything.
I'm a loan officer at a branch. Can I have my own listing?
Often yes, as an individual practitioner alongside the branch's profile, if your company allows it. We check your company's rules and set up the right profile.
How does verification work?
With an office clients visit, Google verifies the address, often by video or postcard. If you meet clients where they are, it's a service-area setup with your base address hidden, usually verified by a short video.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
Which Google category fits best: “Mortgage broker”, “Mortgage lender” or another?
It depends on what most of your work is. The exact Google categories for this trade are “Mortgage broker” and “Mortgage lender”. Your primary category should be the one that describes your main service. Secondary categories some businesses add, only when they really offer that service: “Loan agency”. Choose only categories that describe what you actually do. When we set up or clean up your profile, we check each one in Google's own category picker.
