Food Truck Ordering and Google Reviews

One setup for your truck: orders, schedule and Google.

TapLocal builds your Google profile the right way and puts a branded tap-to-review card on your truck. Coming soon: online ordering, pre-orders, inventory, delivery and your event calendar through FoodTruckPub®, set up by us. One setup, one point of contact. Pricing depends on your setup.

Start with the free report. We read your public Google reviews and tell you, in plain English, what customers praise and where they run into friction. No obligation.

// Sold out by 1:00?

Running out early costs more than you think

Running out feels like a good problem. It isn't. Every customer who shows up after the last plate is a sale you didn't make, and some of them drove across town for it.

Sales you never see

Nobody rings up the customer who walked away from a closed window.

Wasted trips

People who check your hours, drive over and find you sold out don't always come back.

Reviews that stick

"Drove out and they were sold out" sits on your Google profile next to the five-star reviews, and the next customer reads it.

Guesswork every morning

Prep too little and you close early. Prep too much and the food goes to waste.

The fix: know before you open, say when you're done

// What your truck gets

Ordering, built for a truck Coming soon

Coming soon. We're finishing the ordering program now. The Google profile setup, the review card and the free report are available today.

Everything on FoodTruckPub's free plan will be part of the program. We add premium features when your truck needs them.

Your own ordering link and QR code

Customers order from a link or a QR code, or in the FoodTruckPub app. Put the link on your website and social pages and the QR code on your truck.

Same-day and future pre-orders

Take orders for later today or for a future event, for pickup or delivery. Pre-orders fill the gaps in your schedule.

Order throttling

Limit how many orders come in during a time window, so a rush doesn't bury your window.

Order alerts

New orders arrive by push notification, text message or email, with an order tracking screen. Print receipts to a compatible printer.

Map and event calendar

Your truck shows on FoodTruckPub's map and event calendar while you're taking orders. Your calendar can also sync with a Google Calendar you share anywhere.

Menu and inventory you manage

Edit items, categories and modifiers yourself, or import a menu from Square or Clover. Inventory templates and sheets are built in.

Contactless ordering

Customers order and pay from their phones, and you text them when the order is ready. Card payments go to your own Square, Clover or PayPal account.

Catering requests

Customers send a catering request, and you accept or decline it.

Added when your truck needs them

Which of these your truck needs depends on your setup. Orders are separate from reviews. See the ground rules below.

// Delivery

Delivery without the app's cut Coming soon

Some trucks park and deliver. Delivery orders come in through your own FoodTruckPub® ordering link, and on-demand drivers take them to the customer. You don't hire or manage drivers.

This isn't DoorDash, or its fees

Customers order from your own link, not a delivery app's marketplace, so no app takes a percentage of your food total. The driver may come from one of the big delivery networks, but the order, the customer and your menu prices stay yours.

A flat fee per delivery

On-demand drivers cover up to about 10 miles, and each delivery has a flat fee instead of a cut of the order.

Tracking under your name

Customers follow their order with live tracking and text updates that show your truck's name, not a delivery app's.

Costs you can see first

Delivery is a premium add-on, and the delivery tools have plans of their own. We confirm the costs with you before anything is set up.

Some delivery tools offer a private feedback screen or send Google review prompts only to happy customers. That's review gating, and we keep it switched off. See the ground rules.

// The Google side

Found on Google, reviewed honestly

// Process

Four steps, most of them ours

1. Your free report

We read your public Google reviews and talk through how your truck works: where you park, how you take orders, what you sell.

2. Set up

We build or clean up your Google profile. Coming soon: we also set up your FoodTruckPub account, with your menu, calendar and Square, Clover or PayPal connection.

3. Install

The review card goes on the truck, and your ordering QR code goes where customers can see it. We install in person in the Augusta, Georgia area and ship preprogrammed cards elsewhere in the U.S.

4. Learn

Your report shows what customers say. Orders and reviews stay separate, so each one tells you something different.

// What orders cost

Who pays what Coming soon

// Questions

Common questions

What is FoodTruckPub®?

FoodTruckPub® is an online ordering platform for food trucks, trailers and carts. TapLocal integrates with it and will set it up for you as part of a program built for food trucks; that program is coming soon. TapLocal is not FoodTruckPub.

We sell out early. How does this help?

Coming soon with ordering: pre-orders show you what's sold before you open, so you can prep to real orders. Order throttling keeps one rush from taking everything. When you're done, you drop off the live map, and a Google Post tells people searching for you when you'll be back.

Can we deliver without a delivery app taking a cut?

Yes, coming soon. Delivery orders come through your own ordering link, and on-demand drivers deliver them for a flat per-delivery fee instead of a share of the order. Delivery is a premium add-on, and we confirm all costs with you first.

Do I have to use ordering to get a review card?

No. The review card, the Google profile setup and the free report work on their own. See the food truck Google setup.

What does it cost?

TapLocal's pricing depends on your setup. The Intelligence Report is free. Customers pay a convenience fee on each order; see the fee amounts above.

Who pays the convenience fee?

The customer. FoodTruckPub adds it to the order total.

Which payment providers work?

Square, Clover and PayPal. Card payments go to your own account with the provider. Clover is available only in the United States. Square and PayPal also work outside the U.S.

Does TapLocal earn money from FoodTruckPub?

Yes. Taste of the Town USA, LLC, which owns TapLocal, is a FoodTruckPub® referral partner and receives a share of FoodTruckPub's per-order fee for trucks it refers. We tell you so up front.

Can I run coupons or loyalty rewards?

For orders, yes. They are never tied to reviews. Google doesn't allow anything in exchange for a review, and neither do we.
