Google Review Cards for Car Dealers

The keys. The handshake.
The review that follows.

Car dealership reviews come from two places: the sale, where people write about the salesperson, the price and the paperwork, and the service drive, where they come back for years. TapLocal App℠ sets up or cleans up your Google profile, gives every buyer an NFC + QR Google review card or keepsake key tag at delivery, and hands you a report on what customers already say.

No gating. No incentives. No guarantees. Ever.

Exhibit A — the key tag, on the new keys
// Why car dealers are a special case

Sales and service, one profile

Delivery is when buyers get it

Every buyer gets the same card or key tag when the keys change hands, to use now or after the first week of driving.

The service drive keeps writing

Oil changes, recalls and repairs bring customers back for years, and those visits produce their own reviews. Your report shows sales and service apart.

Names come up, but never ask for them

Buyers often name their salesperson on their own. Google's policy doesn't allow asking for a name or any specific content in a review.

Standard storefront verification

A real address; Google chooses the method, often a short video or a mailed postcard.

// Car Dealer questions

Car Dealers: questions, answered plainly

When should buyers get the card?
At delivery, every buyer, the same way. A keepsake key tag on the new keys goes home with them, so they can review whenever they're ready.
Can our salespeople ask buyers to mention them by name?
No. Google's policy doesn't allow asking for specific content in a review, including a staff member's name, or setting staff a number of reviews to collect. Buyers often name their salesperson on their own.
Do service customers get the card too?
Yes. A card at the service counter works for every service visit. If reviews talk about sales and service differently, your report shows those patterns separately.
We sell used cars. Does this page fit us?
Yes. Independent used car lots use the same profile setup and the same card; the Google category is different (Used car dealer).
How does verification work for a car dealer?
Standard storefront verification: Google confirms your real address, usually with a short video or a mailed postcard.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
Is “Car dealer” the right Google category for me?
For most businesses like yours, yes. “Car dealer” is the exact name in Google's category list, and it should be your primary category. Secondary categories some businesses add, only when they really offer that service: “Used car dealer”. Choose only categories that describe what you actually do. When we set up or clean up your profile, we check each one in Google's own category picker.
