Google Review Cards for Farms & Farm Stands

Picked this morning.
Reviewed this afternoon.

Farm reviews come from pick-your-own visitors, farm stand regulars, pumpkin patch families and Christmas tree buyers. They write about freshness, the drive out and whether the kids had fun. TapLocal App℠ sets up or cleans up your Google profile, places an NFC + QR Google review card at the farm stand or checkout, and hands you a report on what visitors already say.

No gating. No incentives. No guarantees. Ever.

Seasons, not storefronts

Seasons bring the crowds

Strawberry season, pumpkin season and tree season each bring a wave of visitors and reviews. Every visitor gets the card the same way, busy weekend or not.

Hours and directions matter most

Visitors drive out of town. Reviews often mention whether the hours and what's in season matched what the profile said.

The experience gets written about

Families describe the hayride, the petting zoo or the view as much as the produce.

Customers must be able to visit

A farm customers come to gets a storefront profile. If you only sell at markets or deliver, Google's rules are stricter; we check what you're eligible for first.

// Google Posts

Google Posts: news that shows on your profile

Google Posts are short updates on your Google Business Profile, shown on Search and Maps. They're free, and they're part of every profile we set up or clean up: we set you up to use them and show you how.

For your business

  • Post what's in season and your pick-your-own, pumpkin patch or tree-season open dates as Event posts.
  • Fields picked out for the day? A quick Update saves families a wasted drive.

How it works

  • Three kinds: an Update (news), an Offer (a deal with dates) and an Event (a title with start and end dates and times).
  • Schedule a post ahead, and set it to repeat weekly or monthly, so a regular stop or special is posted once.
  • Posts older than six months are archived unless they have a date range, so dated Events and Offers stay tidy.
  • Don't type a phone number, email or social handle in a post; Google may remove it. Add the Call button instead.
  • Never post an offer that gives anything for a review. Offers are for deals open to every customer.

// Farm questions

Farms & Farm Stands: questions, answered plainly

We sell at farmers' markets. Can the card come along?
Yes, at your booth, the same way for every customer. It points to your farm's own Google profile, so it only helps if customers can visit the farm or it's eligible for a profile.
We're only open part of the year. Does that hurt us?
Set seasonal hours on your Google profile so nobody drives out to a closed gate. Reviews from last season still count.
When should pick-your-own visitors get the card?
At checkout or the weigh station, the same way for everyone, to use now or once they're home.
How does verification work for a farm?
Standard storefront verification: Google confirms the address visitors come to, usually with a short video or a mailed postcard.
We run a CSA with delivery. Which profile?
If members can also pick up at the farm, a storefront profile there fits. Delivery-only farms need a different setup, and we check eligibility first.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
Which Google category fits best: “Farm”, “Pick your own farm produce” or another?
It depends on what most of your work is. The exact Google categories for this trade are “Farm”, “Pick your own farm produce”, “Farm shop” and “Orchard”. Your primary category should be the one that describes your main service. Secondary categories some businesses add, only when they really offer that service: “Pumpkin patch”, “Christmas tree farm”, “Organic farm” and “Honey farm”. Choose only categories that describe what you actually do. When we set up or clean up your profile, we check each one in Google's own category picker.
