TapLocal App℠
Case Type: Bookstore

The right book.
The right recommendation.

Bookstore reviews are about the people as much as the shelves: a staff pick that hit, a special order that came through, a place worth lingering in. TapLocal App℠ sets up or cleans up your Google profile, places an NFC + QR Google review card at the register, and hands you a report on what customers already say.

No gating. No incentives. No guarantees. Ever.

// Why bookstores are a special case

More than a store

Recommendations get remembered

Readers write about the bookseller who knew exactly what they'd like. That's something an online store can't offer, and reviews say so.

Events and the space matter

Readings, story times and book clubs bring people in, and reviews often describe the store as a place to spend time.

Special orders build loyalty

Tracking down a hard-to-find title is the kind of help readers mention again and again.

Standard storefront verification

A real address; Google chooses the method, often a short video or a mailed postcard.

Four steps, no theatrics

// Bookstore questions

Bookstores: questions, answered plainly

Can the card be a bookmark?
Yes. A bookmark with the QR code travels home in the book, and readers find it again when they sit down to read.
Should we mention the card at readings and events?
Having it at the events table is fine. Never offer anything, like a discount or a raffle entry, in return for a review.
We sell used books too. Does that change anything?
No. Reviews will mention whatever customers value, including your used selection or trade-in policy, and the report shows those patterns.
How does verification work for a bookstore?
Standard storefront verification: Google confirms your real address, usually with a short video or a mailed postcard.
Will the report show if customers mention our booksellers?
If names or recommendations come up, yes. You can't ask customers to name anyone, but the report shows the pattern.
Is there anything we should avoid asking customers?
Yes: never ask for a specific star rating or wording, never offer anything in return for a review, and never ask only the customers you think are happy. The card simply makes it easy for everyone to leave an honest review.
